Wayside is thrilled to support of The Nightlight Cinema! The Nightlight is an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit movie theater in Akron, Ohio, dedicated to fostering community through cinema. From indie flicks and docs to cult classics and more, they’re passionate about playing great cinema worth seeing on the big screen, and make it a point to have something exceptional for everyone.

Costume contest rules: Contestant must register in the Civic’s grand lobby prior to movie with name, address, phone number and email address. Those contestants will be judged on stage by audience applause, and “Buddy the Elf” will determine the winner. Winner will receive a $500 Wayside Gift Certificate. (Gift certificate will be mailed to the address provided on the entry form.)

On Saturday, May 31st at 7:30 p.m., the Akron Civic Theatre taps into the growing interest in whiskey and bourbon tastings by putting our unique twist on a new immersive tasting event. At A Whiskey Deemed Worthy, presented by Wayside Furniture, whiskey lovers and the whiskey curious will enter a world of “liquid sunshine” and enjoy their choice of four pours from among 16 American whiskeys. The event will also feature ambient live music and a delicious array of noshes — a spectacular charcuterie presentation of meats, cheeses, vegetables, dips and breads; chicken wings; and sweet and savory selections. This event is for adults 21 years of age.

Tennis in the Land is a A WTA 250 tournament that brings top professional women's tennis players to the Nautica Entertainment Complex in the West Bank of the Flats. With an intimate, 2,000-person venue, Tennis in the Land gives all fans the ability to watch professional women's tennis from at most a few rows away!
